Tehran, IRNA – The representative of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in Iran has hailed Iran’s diplomatic movements concerning the Zionist regime’s war on the Gaza Strip, saying other Islamic countries should do the same.

Speaking with IRNA, Khaled al-Qaddumi said the movement has witnessed the diplomatic movements of the Islamic Republic of Iran by President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian since the second day of the war, and “this is very valuable to us.”

“I believe these movements were a firm response to [US State Secretary Antony] Blinken’s criminal political movements on conveying the field developments and the Palestinian crisis to the Islamic world,” he said.

He also noted that certain non-Muslim, freedom-seeking countries, including Bolivia, Cambodia, and South Africa, have cut off or reduced their ties with the Zionist regime.

“We have not seen such actions in the Islamic world today; no cutting political ties, no summoning ambassadors, and no cutting economic ties,” he said.

The Hamas representative asked Islamic countries why they were sending fuel to the Zionist regime or facilitating the export of fuel to the regime amidst its brutal war on Gaza.

“At least 40% of the fuel needed by the Zionist regime is supplied from the 300,000 barrels of oil per day that, unfortunately, come to Israel from Africa, Asia, or Turkish ports,” al-Qaddumi said.

“I am not saying that the Islamic world should create a military army to save Palestine and defend innocent children, but rather, we say that at least the permanent opening of the Rafah crossing, cutting off or suspending political relations with the enemy, and cutting off trade with it should take place,” he added.

At least 11,320 Palestinians, including 4,650 children and 3,145 women, have been killed in the Zionist regime’s incessant bombardment of the besieged Gaza Strip since October 7.
