In reaction to the media hype over Mohammadi’s health problems and the jail's failure to give her access to medical care, the General Directorate of the Prisons of Tehran rejected the fake news about Mohammadi’s health problems by announcing her presence at the hospital on Wednesday.
It noted that Mohammadi was sent to the hospital outside the prison in compliance with the rules and protocols and was returned to prison after medical examinations.
According to the report, all necessary diagnostic measures such as blood tests and complete heart tests were performed by the hospital, and the result of the lung test was declared completely normal.
The result of the CT angiography will be announced to the prisoner after the examination by specialist doctors.
Eventually, due to the absence of acute problems, the prisoner was returned to prison to continue her sentence.
Earlier, the HRANA news agency reported on Monday that imprisoned Narges Mohammadi began a hunger strike in protest against what she said was the jail's failure to give her access to medical care, while the news agency did not name its sources.
Mohammadi has been arrested more than a dozen times in her life and this is her third time in Evin prison since 2012.
She is serving multiple sentences amounting to about 12 years imprisonment on several charges, including spreading propaganda against the Islamic Republic.
