-- China opens doors for imports by holding CIIE

China International Import Expo (CIIE) is a trade fair that has been held in Shanghai, China every year since 2018. The event is the first expo in the world at the national level with the subject of imports.
Various exhibitors from different businesses and countries as well as “Hongqiao International Economic Forum” are participating in the expo. The formation of the China International Import Expo was personally proposed, promoted and directed by the current Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The exhibition is jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. The partners of the CIIE include the World Trade Organization, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.

--  Iran imports basic goods worth over $9b: IRICA

Official statistics released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) indicate that in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21), over 13 million tons of essential commodities of 20 different types were imported into the country, worth $9.163 billion.
The imports of basic goods have experienced a 0.98% increase in terms of weight and a 4.97% decrease in terms of value compared to the same period last year.

--  Iranian satellites to contribute to environmental pursuits

Iranian Space Agency (ISA) provided satellite images of the Kajaki Dam sources in Afghanistan to the country’s National Dust Control Headquarters, announced Ali Sadeqi Naeini, the representative of the ISA at the headquarters.
“These images serve as valuable resources for Iranian representatives at the Hirmand Water Commissionerate to facilitate negotiations with the Afghan delegation,” he said.

-- IME Weekly Trade Tops $630 Million

The Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) on Saturday reported that over 2,597,357 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of more than $632 million were traded on its physical market.
The IME’s report added that on its metal and mineral trading floor,
Over 275,998 tonnes of cement, 362,000 tonnes of iron ore, 296,982 tonnes of steel, 118,000 tonnes of sponge iron, 12,759 tonnes of copper, 6,910 tonnes of aluminum, 885 tonnes of zinc, 200 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, 175 tonnes of lead and 45 tonnes of precious metals concentrate with total value of $368 million were traded in the last week.

--  Iran’s Exports to Iraq See 30% Growth

A member of the Board of Directors of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce said that Iran’s exports to neighboring Iraq registered a 30 percent growth in 7 months. Regarding the latest trade situation between Iran and Iraq, Seyyed Hamid Husseini said that the country’s export trend to Iraq was positive despite the existence of problems.
He put the value of products exported from Iran to Iraq in the seven months of the previous Iranian calendar year (March 21 to October 2022) at $7.2 billion, noting that Iran’s export of non-oil products to neighboring Iraq increased to $5.4 billion in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to October 22, 2023).

--  TPOI: Tehran-Kabul Trade Up 20%

An official at the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) announced a 20 percent growth of trade exchanges between Tehran and Kabul so far this year.
Speaking in an interview with IRNA, the deputy head of the TPOI for international business promotion affairs said the organization is ready to carry out joint projects for renovating and developing Afghanistan.
Muhammad Sadegh Ghannadzadeh noted that the two countries share political, historical and cultural commonalities, and also in the fields of trade and economy.

-- Al-Aqsa Storm changes global order equations: speaker

 Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, the speaker of the Iranian parliament, has described the October 7 operation by the Palestinian resistance groups as changing global equations. 

Speaking before a gathering in Tehran on Saturday to mark the seizure of the U.S. embassy in Tehran on November 4, 1979, officially known as National Day against Global Arrogance, Qalibaf said, “Operation Al-Aqsa Storm shifted the equations of the world order and its elements and calculation factors. Operation Al-Aqsa Storm was a turning point and changed history. Everyone is talking about a new world order. No matter what America and the Zionist regime do, the situation after Operation Al-Aqsa Storm will not return to its original state.”

-- Italian writer Italo Calvino's 100th birthday celebrated in Tehran 

In honor of the 100th anniversary of Italo Calvino's birth, a renowned Italian writer, a commemorative event was held in Tehran on Thursday.

The Italian embassy in Tehran organized a series of events to mark the occasion, starting with an exhibit of photographs, entitled "A Collection of Views”, taken during Calvino's 1975 trip to Iran.
