Tehran, IRNA – High-ranking officials from Iran and Russia have reviewed the latest situation on the ground in Gaza Strip and the crimes perpetrated by the Zionist regime in the region.

Russia’s special envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentiev and Ali Asghar Khaji, a senior adviser to the Iranian foreign minister, in a meeting in Tehran on Wednesday, expressed deep concern over the brutal massacre of Palestinian people by the Zionist forces.

They urged the need for putting an immediate end to these attacks and establishment of ceasefire in Gaza so as to pave the way for the dispatch of humanitarian supplies to the region.

The Iranian official said that the Zionist brutalities in Gaza are being carried out in the light of the all-out support from the US, describing these crimes as genocide.

The two officials also discussed the situation on the ground in Syria and the initiatives by Iran and Russia to help improve the economic conditions of the Arab country.
