Zahedan, IRNA – Iranian Vice President and the Head of the country’s Department of Environment says that Tehran and Kabul have had fruitful talks on the water share of Iran’s International Hamoun Wetland.

Ali Salajeghe told IRNA on Tuesday that the Afghan officials have pledged to release the water share of the Hamoun Wetland as soon as there is enough precipitation in Afghanistan.

He added that further talks are still underway between Tehran and Kabul in this regard.

Noting that the government will not tolerate the hardship of the people for meeting their needs for water, the official said that there is no room for concern even if the precipitation conditions go worse in Sistan-Baluchestan Province.
