‘Palestine would be forgotten if it was not for Iran, Resistance’

Tehran, IRNA – If Iran and the Axis of Resistance had not countered the Israeli aggression over the past decades, everyone would have forgotten that historic lands in Western Asia region that have been occupied by the Israeli regime had originally belonged to the Palestinians, the representative of Palestine’s Islamic Jihad movement in Iran has said.

Nasser Abu Sharif made the remarks at a gathering held in Tehran on Sunday evening in support of the people in Gaza.

“A historic opportunity has been created to gain a big victory over the Zionist regime,” the representative noted.

In his remarks, Abu Sharif expressed regret over the long-term silence of the Islamic Ummah on the Zionists' crimes; the silence which let the regime expand its incursions.

Unfortunately, the behavior of the Arab governments let the Israeli regime think that it was part of the West Asian region, he said adding that before the 1993 Oslo accord, none of the Zionists believed they belonged to this region, and they were in constant fear that they might be forced to leave the region.

Since October 7, over 8,000 Palestinians including a large number of women and children have been killed during war between the Resistance groups and the Zionist forces.
