Armita and her friends were entering a train at the Shohada metro station in the Iranian capital on October 1, when she fainted, causing her to hit her head and slip into a coma.
The impact on her head was so severe that she suffered a cardiac arrest, and after the rescue efforts of several citizens, subway employees, and emergency personnel, she was transferred to the nearest specialized hospital for further treatment.
The incident was immediately hijacked by anti-Iran media outlets, which claimed that Armita was brutally beaten by the police for wearing inappropriate clothing.
However, according to the doctors’ official report, after a sudden blood pressure drop, she fell and suffered a brain injury, followed by recurring seizures, decreased cerebral oxygenation, and cerebral edema.
Unfortunately, the brain damage she suffered caused her to remain in a coma for weeks. She eventually died on Saturday morning.
