Tehran, IRNA - President of the Supreme Audit Court of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ahmad Reza Dastgheib and his Pakistani counterpart Muhammad Ajmal Gondal have called for strengthening ties and increasing cooperation between the two countries.

Muhammad Ajmal Gondal as Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) and Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ECOSAI) met and held talks with Dastgheib in the Iranian capital city of Tehran on Wednesday.

Thanking the positive role of the Supreme Audit Court of Pakistan as Secretary General of ECOSAI in recent years, Dastgheib described the role of Pakistan as significant both in ECOSAI and Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) and underlined that the Islamic Republic of Iran calls for bolstering interactions and communication with Pakistan.

Iran and Pakistan are two friends, neighbors, and brothers, and the Supreme Courts of both countries have high capacities to increase cooperation and interactions, he noted.

Muhammad Ajmal Gondal, for his part, thanked the hospitality of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Supreme Audit Court, calling for enhancing targeted and stable interactions between the two Audit Courts and the two countries.

Gondal, who traveled to Iran to attend the 27th edition of the ECOSAI Governing Board meeting in Tehran, also visited the Data Center and the Appeals Court of Iran and was informed and became familiar with the procedures of the Advisory and Appeals Courts in Iran.
