Tehran, IRNA - Iran Air CEO Shamseddin Farzadipour has announced that flight number 723 from Tehran to Hamburg landed safely in Germany, and all the passengers disembarked at the airport.

Farzadipour told IRNA on Monday that special procedures were implemented at Hamburg Airport following a false bomb threat to the passenger plane.

He emphasized that it is standard protocol at any airport to enforce the relevant guidelines under such circumstances.

“The passengers of this flight left the airport after the plane landed safely, and no issues were encountered,” Farzadipour added.

The flight received a security alert en route from Imam Khomeini Airport to Hamburg Airport. The passenger airliner continued its route through Slovakian airspace, Iran Air’s spokesman said earlier.

Eventually, the plane flew over Poland and made a rapid descent to land at Hamburg Airport, escorted by two Eurofighter aircraft, he added.
