Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Minister of Road and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Rashad Nabiyev have held a meeting to discuss bilateral ties as well as increased cooperation on key cross-border transportation projects.

In the Saturday meeting held in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku, Bazrpash and Nabiyev also discussed the formation of a joint committee to increase cooperation on transport projects between Iran and Azerbaijan.

Issues discussed in the meeting included border terminals, joint projects, and cargo transit via the two countries which the officials said should reach some 15 million metric tons per year.

Bazrpash also urged the Azerbaijani side to adopt measures that could settle issues related to the movement of Iranian trucks in Azerbaijan.
