The bridge, to be built with investment from the Azerbaijani side, will be located on the Aras River in northwestern Iran, according to a Saturday report by Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
The agreement was reached in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan. Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mehrdad Bazrpash, who attended the committee meeting, stated that the two sides have agreed on the outlines, adding that the final agreement is expected to be signed today or tomorrow if the Azerbaijani side is ready.
Earlier in the day, Bazrpash said in a meeting with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliev that the road, which will also be known as the Aras corridor, would connect Ağbənd to Jolfa near the border between Iran and Azerbaijan.
