Moscow, IRNA - Oleg Igorevich Yankovsky, a Russian language and literature teacher who teaches at the school of the Russian Embassy in Tehran, has won the title of Russia’s Teacher of the Year.

According to Russian media outlets, October 5 is designated as Teacher's Day in the Russian calendar.

In a ceremony on the Teacher’s Day occasion, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatiana Golikova announced the names of the winners of the award of the ceremony.

Oleg Igorevich Yankovsky, who is a Russian language teacher in Iran, was announced the Teacher of the Year in Russia and awarded one million rubles.

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a video conference to felicitate Yankovsky and other winners of the competition when the president proposed the reopening of Russian schools in friendly states.

Putin emphasized in the video conference that his country has a good relationship with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
