Kerman province is Iran's pistachio hub, where pistachio is cultivated and harvested in most of its cities, including Rafsanjan, Zarand, Shahrbabak, Zangiabad and smaller parts, and is exported to other cities and countries, including Germany, England, etc. Drought and lack of water is the biggest problem of farmers, every year dozens of hectares of pistachio orchards dry up due to lack of water.

Zangiabad is a city in the central part of Kerman province, which is located 17 kilometers north of Kerman city. The main pistachio varieties of this city are Akbari, Badami, Ahmad Aghaei, Fandgi, Kale Ghochi, etc.
