Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Hafez Elementary School for Iranian and foreign students of the Boukan neighborhood in Saadat Shahr, in the southern Iranian province of Fars Abolfazl Kamali said late on Sunday that foreign students are currently able to study alongside Iranian students without any prejudice, the IRNA reported on Monday.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has passed its test in the best way possible and has obtained a high score in the education of foreign nationals,” Kamali said.
“This is while the (aid) from the international community is very small compared to the amount spent by the Islamic Republic of Iran for foreign students,” he added.
The Iranian official further explained that 250,000 foreign students entered the country in less than three months last year, but the Education Ministry managed to enroll all of them in Iranian schools.
Meanwhile, Mahmoud Mirzaee, director general of the Center for Renovation, Development and Equipping of Fars Schools, said some 85% of the total cost of the construction of Hafez Elementary School has been paid by the UN Refugee Agency and the other 15% has been paid from the national funds.
