Tehran, IRNA – Head of Iran’s Supreme National Defense University (SNDU) Brigadier General Esmaeil Ahmadi Moghadam has toured various defense education facilities in India as part of a five-day visit to the country.

According to a Saturday statement from the SNDU, Ahmadi Moghadam’s visit to India at the head of a high-level delegation was meant to develop educational and research relations between Iran and India’s defense sectors.

During meetings held with Indian military commanders and officials, the Iranian general discussed increased cooperation between Iran and India in the fields of cadet exchange programs, joint research and scientific projects and other common areas of cooperation.

Ahmadi Moghadam and his accompanying delegation visited the Center for Strategic Studies of the Indian Ground Force where he gave a speech about the Ukrainian war and other issues such as the transfer of power from West to East and future global trends, said the SNDU statement.

The Iranian delegation also paid a visit to the Indian Air Force College for Strategic Studies on September 20.

During this visit, Ahmadi Moghadam held meetings with professors and students of the college to discuss global and regional issues and areas of joint cooperation between Iran and India.

The SNDU delegation also toured the DARPG Institute of Governance of India where Ahmadi Moghadam expressed hope that the growing scientific and educational relations between Iran and India could further expand in the future.

The head of Iran’s Shahid Beheshti School of Governance, which is affiliated with the SNDU, was also present at the visit to DARPG where Iranian and Indian officials discussed common fields of cooperation on governance issues and signed a memorandum of understanding to expand ties between the two countries.
