Tehran, IRNA – The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman has warned against the repetition of ungrounded claims and accusations that will jeopardize regional interests.

Such repetition will never serve the interests of the regional people and governments, Nasser Kanaani said on Wednesday in reaction to a statement jointly issued in New York by the foreign ministers of the United States and countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council ([P]GCC).

According to foreign media, the Arab foreign ministers of [P]GCC and the US secretary of state have released the statement to call on Iran to fully cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Such claims will solely benefit ill-wishers who seek their illegitimate interests through creating instability and insecurity in the region, the spokesman underlined.

He went on to say that the Islamic Republic drone and missile capabilities are within the framework of a transparent military doctrine which pursues preservation of national security.

This is the Zionist regime of Israel that really threatens the region and is the main cause of insecurity in the Islamic countries, the spokesman stressed.

As he underlined, any claim about ownership of Iran’s southern Islands is interference in internal affairs of the country, and the Islamic Republic strongly condemns such claims.

At the end of his remarks, the spokesman said the Islamic Republic fundamental policies follow removal of problems via interaction and cooperation among the regional states without interference of the extra-regional sides.
