Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Finnish counterpart Elina Maria Valtonen have emphasized the importance of expanding relations between the two countries in all fields.

The two top diplomats spoke on the phone on Tuesday.

They referred to the long-running relations between their countries, and expressed readiness to expand the ties in all fields including in consular and judicial affairs.

Amirabdollahian and Valtonen also discussed regional and international issues including Iran’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, the situation in Afghanistan, and the ongoing war in Ukraine.

The Finnish diplomat expressed concern over the consequences of the continued conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
