Tehran, IRNA – The Zionist regime is planning to construct thousands of new settler units on occupied Palestinian land, media outlets have reported.

According to the Palestinian Information Center news website, the regime intends to approve the construction of nearly 4,000 new settler units as well as a 1,300-room hotel in occupied Al-Quds, the IRNA reported on Sunday.

The settler units will be constructed within two plans. One will result in the construction of 384 units in the Silwan neighborhood of Al-Quds. The other plan will see the establishment of a settlement containing 3,500 units and the aforementioned hotel in the south of the city, the report said.

All Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories are illegal under international law, with various UN Security Council resolutions urging an end to the expansion of those settlements.

The Zionist regime however has been pressing ahead with its expansionist policies and what Palestinians describe as the regime’s land grab policies. They say the settlements are a serious hurdle to resolve the decades-long conflict with the regime.
