The fleet, led by the homegrown destroyer Sahand, docked at the Imamat wharf after sailing 18,000 nautical miles in distant waters, according to the Iranian army’s public relations department.
The mission was carried out to uphold the interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran and ensure the security of shipping lines in the Red Sea. In addition, the fleet was dispatched to combat piracy in the Gulf of Aden.
According to report, the 93rd naval fleet, including the domestically built Jamaran destroyer, is stationed in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea.
