Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s exports of semi-finished steel increased by 24.8 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 22), compared to the same period in the past year, the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) has announced.

The ISPA released its latest figures on Tuesday, showing that Iran exported a total of 3.093 million metric tons (mt) of semi-finished steel, registering a 24.8 percent increase year on year.

According to the report, exports of steel products also registered 15% y/y growth. In addition, 78,000 mts of I-beam, and 992,000 mts of rebar were exported in the same period.

Exporting sponge iron reached 708,000 from 213,000 mts during the mentioned five months compared to the corresponding period last year.
