Tehran, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has said that unlike Western countries, which only look for plundering African countries' resources and wealth, Iran eyes expanding ties based on mutual respect and benefit.

President Raisi met and held talks with his Senegalese counterpart Macky Sall on the sidelines of the 15th BRICS Summit on Thursday evening.

Referring to the development of ties between Iran and African countries after the Islamic Revolution, President Raisi expressed Iran’s readiness to share its knowledge, experiences, achievements, and capabilities in technology, engineering, science, and industrial services with Senegal.

President Sall, for his part, congratulated Iran’s official membership in the BRICS and said that the presence of Iran in the BRICS will help balance the international system and form a multipolar world.

He also expressed Senegal’s interest in increasing the presence of Iranian companies and private sector in his country, as well as expanding cooperation with Tehran in the fields of energy and science.
