The association issued a statement on the occasion of the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism on Monday and said that terrorism is a main threat to international peace and security, adding that it has caused irreversible harm to human societies so far.
The world public witnessed the second atrocious crime by the Daesh terrorist group at the Shah Cheragh holy shrine in the Iranian city Shiraz in recent days, the statement said, adding that the crime received widespread international condemnations.
It reiterated that such terrorist acts can occur at any moment in other parts of the world because of the fact that certain Western governments occasionally support terrorist groups.
The association also urged government leaders and United Nations officials to turn the slogan “world free from terrorism” into a human ideal and to go beyond issuing condemnation statements.
It said ringleaders of terrorist groups who have been provided with safe haven in certain countries have to be brought to justice.
