-- Exports of Iranian goods to EAEU top $514m

Iran’s export of non-oil products to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states in the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21-July 22) hit $514.9 million, according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
Based on the IRICA data, Iran exported 1.30 million tons of non-oil commodities to the EAEU member states in the mentioned four months.

-- Iran’s three-month customs revenues up over 260%: IRICA

Iran registered a significant increase in customs revenues during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21 to June 22), according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
Revenues reached 366.81 trillion rials ($754.6 million), which shows an increase of 261% compared to the same period last year.

-- Over 48k register to run for Iran’s parliamentary elections

More than 48,000 people have registered to run for Iran’s parliamentary elections, a spokesman of the electoral headquarters said Sunday.
According to Mohsen Eslami, a total of 48,847 individuals, nearly 13% of whom women, entered their details into an online election registration system to officially register for the upcoming vote scheduled for March 1, 2024. Also among the hopefuls were around 230 current lawmakers.   
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has emphasized the significance of elections as a pivotal avenue to bolstering Iran’s power. He has outlined four specific strategic aspects – namely, “voter turnout, security, cleanness, and competition” – for the authorities responsible for overseeing the elections.

-- Tehran City Theater to Stage ‘Unknown General’

“Le Général inconnu” (“Unknown General”), a play by French playwright and poet René de Obaldia, is on the stage at Tehran’s City Theater, Chaharsu Hall. Mir Alireza Darya-Beigi is the director of the play, which will be on stage until August 18.
Morvarid Jafari, Amir-Hussein Rezaei, Shahrad Ghadiri, Fahimeh Shayanfar, Alireza Qorbanzadeh, Behrad Muhammadi, Afsaneh Niazi and Sara Moqaddam are the cast of the play. The play is about General Achille Beaulieu de Chamfort-Mouron who lives with his wife in a place with nine nested rooms and twelve heavy doors, like a tank.

-- Iran on Brink of Landmark Full Literacy

Officials of the Literacy Movement Organization have announced that the literacy rate in Iran has reached 97.1% in the age group of 10 to 49 years, media reports said on Sunday.
Nearly one year after the 1979 Islamic Revolution, the Literacy Movement Organization was established on the order of the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini with the aim of eradicating illiteracy.
At the time, more than half of Iran’s population over the age of six was illiterate.

-- Iran Defeat Malaysia at FIBA Women’s Asia Cup Division B

 Iran’s women’s basketball team defeated the Malaysian team in Women’s Asia Cup 2023 Division B in Thailand. The Iranian girls defeated their rivals from Malaysia 65-59 on the first day of the 
Women’s Asia Cup 2023 Division B is underway in Bangkok, Thailand at the Nimibutr Stadium from August 13 to 19. Iran’s national team will play against Mongolia in its second match on Monday.

-- IRGC says drives terrorists back at Iraqi border

The military operations conducted by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force along Iran’s northern border have pushed terrorists to retreat into the inner regions of Iraq’s Kurdistan Region for approximately four years, a senior IRGC commander says. Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour, commander of the IRGC Ground Force, made the remarks at a symposium held in Tehran on Saturday to honor journalists.

Emphasizing the professional work his troops have been doing to maintain security in border areas, he said for around four years IRGC forces had been undertaking operations in Iran’s northwest to promote security along the country’s shared border with Iraq.

--  Iranian maestro Rahbari to conduct Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra in China

 Prominent Iranian composer and conductor Ali Rahbari will conduct Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra at the Shenzhen Belt & Road International Music Festival in China. German cellist Niklas Eppinger will accompany the orchestra during the performance, which will be held on October 12, 2023.

A repertoire of works by Czech composer Antonin Leopold Dvorak and Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, will be performed at the concert.

--  Iran’s LPG export capacity rises

 The managing director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) announced about the increasing capacity of Iran’s liquified petroleum gas (LPG) export.

Making the remarks in a press conference on Saturday, Jalil Salari said that currently, about five billion liters of liquid fuel have been stored in the country's power plant tanks, which is equivalent to 90 percent of the capacity of these tanks.
