According to the Public Relations Office of the Pakistan president, the new ambassador of Pakistan to Iran, Muhammad Mudassir Tipu, met with Pakistani President Arif Alvi on Thursday.
Alvi in the meeting stressed that Iran is Pakistan's brother and neighbor and Islamabad places great importance on its relations with Iran, which are rooted in history, culture, and religion.
Pakistan's president said that more efforts should be made to deepen and expand relations with Iran, especially in the commercial, economic, cultural and people-to-people fields.
Praising the support of the Iranian government and people towards Pakistan's regional positions, Alvi said steps should be taken to strengthen regional cooperation between the two countries.
Tipu said in the meeting that he makes his efforts to promote bilateral ties between the two countries to new levels with the consideration of geopolitical developments, finding new opportunities to strengthen relations of Tehran-Islamabad.
