Owji made the remarks on Sunday in what seemed to be a reaction to reports on Kuwaiti Oil Minister Saad Al Barrak citing him as saying that Kuwait will start drilling and begin production at Arash gas field without waiting for border demarcation with Iran.
Noting that Iran pursues its rights and interests in the shared field, the oil minister, however, said that Iran always supports finding friendly settlements to bordering and maritime disputes with neighboring countries.
He added that Iran seeks to negotiate a shared excavation in Arash field.
The offshore Arash gas field in the Persian Gulf is shared by Iran, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.
