Mortazavi made the remarks in a meeting with Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Iraq Ahmed Al-Asadi, adding that Iran is ready to develop joint cooperation in the fields of labor, collaboration, social welfare and transfer of technical and vocational training experiences.
He also referred to the religious and cultural commonalities between both countries, expressing hope that this year's Arbaeen rally will be held very appropriately, arguing that the rally indicates unity among the Islamic Ummah.
Mortazavi described Iraq as a friendly and brotherly nation, adding that noting that his ministry is keen on expanding economic cooperation with Iraq.
Al-Asadi, for his part, said that they witnessed Iran’s progress in various industrial sectors, and that the Iraqi side hopes for sharing of the successful experiences with the Arab country.
The cooperation between social security funds of Iran and Iraq has been kicked off with the aim of increasing the level of joint investments, the Iraqi official said, adding that the initial steps will be taken in the near future.
