Hormatollah Rafiei, the head of the board of directors of the Iranian Air Travel and Tourism Offices, made the announcement at a press conference in Tehran on Sunday.
In his remarks, the official referred to the symbolic launch of a direct flight between Tehran and Cairo soon.
As he said, Iraq mediated Iran-Egypt talks on the expansion of tourism cooperation.
As long as Iran does not have a consulate in Egypt, the travels to that country will be made through Iraq, Rafiei noted.
A few days ago, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said the Islamic Republic welcomes normalization of relations with all Islamic countries, including Egypt and Morocco.
