Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has said that Tehran would officially introduce its coordinator to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's secretariat in the coming week.

Amirabdollahian made the remarks in his Friday phone conversation with the SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming amid reports about the formal approval of Iran's full membership next week.

He appreciated the efforts and cooperation of the SCO Secretary-General to complete Iran's full membership process, and announced Iran's readiness to attend the upcoming meeting of the organization, which will be held online.

Iran's foreign minister in the phone conversation added that he is confident Iran's membership in the SCO will provide the SCO with a growing capacity.
