The flight leaves Shahid Madani airport in Tabriz at 07:30 am local time and return to the airport from Yerevan at 10:30 am on Mondays and Thursdays every week, director of the provincial airports authority Ramin Azari told IRNA on Tuesday.
By launching the Tabriz-Yerevan flight, the number of foreign flights from the Iranian city reaches five, Azari added.
He said that Sabiha and Atatürk airports in Turkiye’s Instanbul, Adana airport in Turkiye’s Adana, and Najaf airport in Iraq are other destinations of foreign flights from Shahid Madani airport.
Designed and built over seven decades ago, Shahid Madani Airport is located in northwest of Tabriz and operates flights 24 hours a day.
earlier this month, the Flyone Armenia airline launched direct flights between Yerevan and Tehran with the company's top official saying the flights can boost relations between Iran and Armenia in the fields of culture, economy, and tourism.
