Tehran, IRNA – The Iranian deputy foreign minister for political affairs has said that sustainable peace and stability in the West Asia region depends on progress and development of regional countries.

Ali Bagheri Kani made the remarks in a meeting in the Qatari capital Doha late on Wednesday with Qatari Minister of State Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi.

Bagheri Kani said that Iran and Qatar are seriously determined to ensure stability in the region, adding that peace and stability will become sustainable only when regional countries expand their infrastructure and become developed.

For his part, Al-Khulaifi described his country’s ties with Iran as growing and stressed that the two countries have always been partners in bringing about peace and stability to the region.
