Tehran, IRNA - Nearly 66,000 barrels of oil per day on average were stolen by the United States Army as well as other US-backed armed forces in the first half of 2022, which translates into the theft of 82% of Syria's oil production by the US, according to a new report.

Figures by China Radio International cited in a Saturday report by IRNA showed that Syria's daily average oil production in the first half of 2022 was around 80,300 barrels, of which nearly 66,000 barrels were stolen by the US army and the US-backed militants.

The US army takes various measures to hide its continuous robbery in Syria, such as arresting individuals to prevent them from filming the scenes of oil theft, said the report.

Despite the fact that reports about the theft of Syrian oil by the US army and anti-Syrian militants have been fairly abundant in recent years, many analyst still view the issue as serious.
