Shiraz, IRNA – Head of international scientific cooperation department at Iran's Shiraz University says that over 400 foreign students studied at the university in the academic year to July, a tenfold increase from the academic year to July 2021.

Speaking to IRNA on Wednesday, Abolfazl Jokar said that most of the foreign students admitted to Shiraz University, located in southern Iran, are from neighboring states as well as from West Asia, Eastern Europe, and Africa regions.

Jokar said most of those students are studying in long-term post-graduate courses, as well as in PhD and master's degree courses.

He said that Shiraz University has very strong relations with the scientific centers of the world, adding that it has signed 40 international agreements with various academic institutions and research centers around the world.

These MoUs have been signed to enable the university to exchange professors and students with other universities and to participate in joint educational and research projects.
