The SCI on Saturday published the results of its latest labor force survey for the calendar year 1401, which ended on March 20.
A review of the jobless rate among individuals aged 15 and above indicates that 9% of the active labor force was unemployed over the year to late March, down 0.2 percentage points from the year before, the SCI data showed.
They showed that the labor force participation rate in Iran remained unchanged from the previous year, with 40.9% of the population in that age group being economically active. That means they were either employed or unemployed.
Some 23.7 million people aged 15 or above were actively employed in Iran calendar year 1401, an increase of over 268,000 compared to the year before, said the SCI.
The figures showed that the Iranian services sector had the highest share of employment with 51.6%, followed by the industry sector with 33.6% and the agriculture sector with 14.8%.
