Tehran, IRNA – Mohammad Mehdi Harati, Iran’s prominent visual artist and a member of the country's Academy of Arts, has passed

Harati died on May 25 at the age of 81.

Born and raised in Quchan in northeast of Iran, Harati moved to Tehran to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy degree in visual arts.

He was active in visual arts for around half a century, including in oil and pen paintings, miniature paintings on wood and ceramics, paintings with enamel colors, and old Persian calligraphy.
