President Raisi and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held talks on strengthening trade cooperation between the two countries.
The talks were held at the Pishin-Mand joint border point on Thursday.
Iranian President in his meeting with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, pointed out the will of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to develop relations with its neighbors, especially Pakistan, emphasizing the need to develop ties between the two countries in various fields.
He considered the construction of seven border markets and electricity transmission lines between Iran and Pakistan as another manifestation of good cooperation and a foundation for strengthening ties between the two countries and said that there are great potentials for energy exchanges between Tehran and Islamabad.
Stating that the level of trade ties between Iran and Pakistan is far from reaching the desired point, Raisi voiced the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to develop relations with Pakistan in various commercial, industrial, agricultural and science and technology sectors.
Iranian President in his remarks, considered the presence of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the accompanying delegation at the zero point of the border with Iran as a sign of the stability of security in the Islamic Republic of Iran, saying that although some groups at the border points seek to make the borders of the two countries insecure, this is a sensitive issue of the Pakistani government.
He also pointed to the will of the Islamic Republic of Iran to resolve regional disputes between Islamic countries and Iran's recent agreement with Saudi Arabia and said, "We have never" considered Saudi Arabia as our enemy, but based on the principled policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, "the Zionist regime" is the common enemy of the world.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, for his part in the meeting, expressed his satisfaction in the inauguration ceremony of 100MW Polan-Gabd electricity transmission line project and the inauguration of Mand-Pishin border market.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif along with Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi inaugurated 100 MW Polan-Gabd electricity transmission line project from Iran to Gwadar at Mand-Pishin crossing point of Pakistan-Iran border today.
The two leaders also inaugurated sustenance marketplace at Mand-Pishin crossing point.
The Mand-Pishin border sustenance marketplace is expected to provide a thriving platform for increasing cross-border trade, fostering economic growth, and opening up new avenues of opportunity for local businesses.
