Zahedan, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has opened the Pishin-Mand marketp on the country's southeastern border with Pakistan in a bid to boost trade ties with the neighboring country.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was also present in the Thursday opening ceremony of the border market, which is located in Rask County in Sistan-Baluchestan province.

Sistan-Baluchestan's manager of border markets department Mobin Alimir told IRNA that the launch of the Pishin-Mand market is an important development that will improve the economic situation of the people living in the region. 

He said people living near the border can buy and sell goods worth up to $400 per week in the market without any need to go through customs formalities, the manager noted.
