Tehran, IRNA – A walking event for autistic patients was staged around Chitgar Lake in the west of the Iranian capital Tehran to raise awareness about autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

About 200 people, including patients, family members and campaigners, participated in the Autism Walk that was organized by the Iran Autism Association (IrAutism)on Friday.

Officials from Tehran Municipality were also present in the event which was held to raise awareness about ASD patients and the difficulties they face in their daily life.

IrAutism has announced it is planning to hold Autism Walk events on a quarterly basis in different venues in Tehran and in other cities across Iran.

The campaign will help people become familiar with methods of treating ASD patients in the society.
