The local branch of Iran's Department of Environment in Mazandaran province released a footage on Sunday showing Persian Leopard in good conditions.
It came after photos went viral on social media platforms that showed the animal in a northern Iranian habitat.
The Persian leopard is one of the biggest of its kind in the West Asian region and is native to the Iranian Plateau and surrounding regions.
According to current statistics, a population of 500 to 800 Persian leopards are scattered in three Iranian northern provinces of Mazandaran, Gilan, Golestan as well as in Razavi Khorasan, North Khorasan, Semnan, Yazd, Sistan-Baluchestan and Fars provinces in the northeast, center, south and southeast of the country.
