Chinese Ambassador to Iran Chang Hua said two major Chinese companies plan to invest in Khuzestan Province, Iran’s oil-rich southwest.
During a meeting with Khuzestan’s governor general on Sunday, Hua said other Chinese companies could also come forward with any investment plans that involve the Iranian province

– Iran’s exports to Oman up 52%

According to IRICA, Iran’s exports to Oman stood at 3.34 million tons, worth $1.08 billion, in fiscal 2022-23 (ending March 20), registering 29% and 52% growth, respectively, compared with the year before.

– Iran-China trade over $4b in Q1

Iran’s trade with China reached $4.04 billion during the first three months of 2023, registering a 5.1% increase compared with the corresponding period of the year before.

The National Petrochemical Company (NPC) managing director Morteza Shahmirzaei on Sunday said the 14th Iran Petrochemical Forum (IPF) focusing on value chain and new opportunities will revolve around eight topics.
Shahmirzaei added the forum’s subjects are “Feedstock, products and supply chain”; “Solutions and advanced optimization technologies”; “Integration and coordination between petrochemical and refining complexes”; “Production process and market”; “Methanol market and its roles”; “Global energy crisis and future of petrochemical industry”; “Investment and financial supply opportunities”; and “Energy optimization and production without pollution”.

Iran’s envoy to Pakistan Seyyed Muhammad Ali Husseini and the Pakistani Minister of Finance Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Sunday emphasized the need to take more effective steps to strengthen economic cooperation and help increase trade relations.
Appreciating the efforts of the Iranian ambassador during his diplomatic tenure in Pakistan in order to strengthen and consolidate brotherly relations between the two neighboring countries, Ishaq Dar praised the actions taken especially in the commercial and economic fields.

--  First Aerospace Museum of Iran Opens in Kerman

The first aerospace museum of Iran has been unveiled in southeastern province of Kerman. The museum boasts a collection of intriguing aerospace artifacts.
The opening ceremony held on Saturday was attended by a number of senior officials. The museum itself is the result of years of planning and hard work by a dedicated team of experts and aerospace enthusiasts.

-- Preparations underway for reopening Saudi, Iranian embassies

 A senior Iranian lawmaker has said that preparations for reopening the embassy of Iran and Saudi Arabia are underway, noting that the two countries will name ambassadors. 

Vahid Jalalzadeh, who is the head of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, implied that thaw in Iran-Saudi relations is part of the Raisi administration’s “neighborhood policy”.

-- Iran retains world ranking for scientific publications

According to data released by Scopus, Iran published 78,225 scientific articles in this database in 2022. Accordingly, Iran is ranked 15th in the world in terms of publication of scientific works for the fourth consecutive year. Scopus data in 2022 shows that Iran ranks first among countries in the region in terms of the number of scientific publications.

A review of Scopus data from 2014 to 2022 shows that Iran has always been the first among the countries in the region in terms of the number of publications and has been able to maintain this position.

-- Abandoned caravanserai in Kerman to undergo restoration

The tourism directorate of the southern province of Kerman plans to restore the deserted caravanserai of Jar in the near future, the provincial tourism chief has said.  The project is planned to be carried out in collaboration with the private sector, Fereydun Faali explained on Sunday. 

Some 20 billion rials ($40,000) has been allocated to the project so far, the official added.
