Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has denied allegations that the country is providing aid to either of the warring parties in Ukraine.

Amirabdollahian made the remarks in a Tuesday meeting in Tehran with United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths.

The minister elaborated on Iran’s principled positions toward the Ukraine war and said that Iran does not consider war as a solution to disputes between countries while maintaining that sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations should be respected.

He said that Iran is hosting millions of refugees as a result of years-long conflicts in Afghanistan.

Amirabdollahian also asked UN’s support for creating the required infrastructure for Afghan refugees in Iran.

Meanwhile, Griffiths informed Amirabdollahian of his efforts regarding humanitarian issues around the world and in the region while he also elaborated on his views about the situation in Afghanistan and Ukraine.
