According to the public relations office of Iran’s Martyr Foundation and Veterans Affairs, all members of the martyr’s family, except for two of them, have passed away.
The head of the searching committee responsible for finding the bodies of the Iranian martyrs, General Mohammad Baqerzadeh, has said that a public farewell ceremony for Oshana is slated for Wednesday (April 25) in Tehran.
Also, his funeral ceremony will be held two days later after the Tehran Friday prayers, the General added.
According to Baqerzadeh, an Assyrian church in Tehran will hold a special ceremony for the martyr on Friday.
Bet Oshana was martyred in the east of Iraq’s Tigris River in March 1985, but his body remained there and went missing. Finally, his remains were found and were identified after 39 years.
Reportedly, Iraq’s eight years of imposed war claimed the lives of 230,000 Iranian soldiers and left nearly 600,000 war-disabled. Also, about 43,000 Iranians were prisoners of war in Iraq and many others went missing in action.
