This year's Tehran derby to allow only 15,000 fans

Tehran, IRNA – Deputy head of Iran Football Federation Mansour Ghanbarzadeh has said that this year's match between Esteghlal and Persepolis football clubs, a match known as Tehran Derby, will be held with a limited number of spectators in the Azadi stadium.

Ghanbarzadeh said that based on the current conditions of Azadi Stadium, the number of spectators that can be allowed to the Blue-Red derby can only be 15,000 due to safety issues.

Esteghlal and Persepolis are the most popular football clubs in Iran.

The Tehran derby has always been among the most exciting football matches in Iran.
