Tehran, IRNA – Tehran Prosecutor General’s office has issued an indictment against five officials who failed to do their legal duties regarding the implementation of the clean air act.

Based on the legal authorities’ investigations, the relevant officials did not pay due attention to their legal duties and refused to perform their assigned duties.

Some of the managers of the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Petroleum, the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran, the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, and the Department of Environment are accused in this case.

Failure to communicate the quality standard of vehicle pollution control equipment, failure to implement Article 23 of the technical rulebook in the field of air pollution control and reduction regarding the control of pollution caused by mazut-burning power plants through the installation of deoxidizing equipment, failure to approve the mandatory fuel standard and the supply of fuel with the approved standard and failure in the identification of the industrial units are among the items for which the indictment was issued.
