Beijing, IRNA – Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud has said that the new relationship between Tehran and Riyadh has created a positive atmosphere in the whole region.

The Saudi minister noted on Thursday that the kingdom is ready to strengthen the new positive atmosphere throughout the region with the help of the Islamic Republic.

Faisal bin Farhan and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian met and discussed in the Chinese capital Beijing to pave the way for the implementation of the agreement to restore diplomatic ties between Riyadh and Tehran.

The Saudi minister pointed to the opening of a new chapter in the relationship between the two states, noting that there are new horizons in friendly and brotherly ties, which will be welcomed by Riadh, especially when it comes to implementing the existing agreements, including the exchange of high-ranking delegations between the two sides.

New relations between the two countries created a new positive atmosphere in the whole region and Saudi Arabia is prepared to enhance the mentioned positive atmosphere in regional interactions with the help and cooperation of Iran, he argued.

The Iranian top diplomat underlined the need for expansion of the ties between Riyadh and Tehran in economic, trade, and investment fields, expressing Iran’s readiness to hold a joint economic commission between the two states.

The two ministers welcomed reciprocate invitations for official visits and signed a joint statement at the end of the meeting.

The Iranian and Saudi delegations finalized a cooperation accord, which was brokered by China in March.
