Foreign Ministry's Deputy for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Expatriates' Affairs Ali-Reza Bigdeli said on Tuesday that consular services are being provided to many Iranians in countries where they have been granted citizenship.
“… we (still) regard them as Iranians living abroad. The government has duties and responsibilities with regards to them” said Bigdeli.
The official made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran attended by members of the Iranian diaspora.
The two-day meeting started on Tuesday with the presence of some 150 Iranians living in 64 countries around the world.
