A Saturday report by IRNA said Sánchez may sign a draft contract sent to him by the FFIRI within the next couple of hours to become head coach of the Iranian national football team.
The report said the FFIRI may make an official statement at 20:00 PM Iranian local time on Saturday to announce the appointment of Sánchez.
The Spanish coach was the manager of Qatar national football team in the World Cup 2022 in Qatar in November and December. He will replace Carlos Queiroz, the Portuguese coach who led Iran in three matches in the World Cup tournament before replacing Sánchez in Qatar’s national team.
