--U.S., EU admit JCPOA still best way to resolve Iran nuclear issue
Despite many obstacles created by the Europeans and the United States on the way of the revival of the Iran nuclear deal, their officials have admitted that there is no better way to resolve Iran’s nuclear issue than the revival of the agreement.
The agreement between Iran and the UK, France, Germany, China, Russia and the U.S. was signed in 2015. Three years later, Donald Trump, the former US president, unilaterally withdrew the US from the agreement, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). One year after Europe failed to fulfill its JCPOA obligations, Tehran reduced its commitments in several stages. Over the past year, talks to revive the agreement have yet yield a result.
-- Iran president orders probe into poisoning of schoolgirls
Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi instructed the interior minister to investigate reports of student poisonings in some schools, citing concerns at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday. "Following up and quickly investigating this matter is of utmost importance," Raeisi said, adding that regular updates on the situation should be provided to ease the families' worries, Tasnim News Agency reported.
Raeisi emphasized that the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Intelligence, and other relevant agencies must work with the interior minister to address the issue. He also stressed that any dissemination of information must go through the Interior Ministry. The cause and number of cases in the poisoning of schoolgirls in several Iranian cities remain unknown.
-- Gazprom CEO discusses energy cooperation during visit to Iran
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, led a delegation to Iran to discuss energy cooperation and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Iranian National Oil Company (NIOC), according to a Gazprom press release.
The delegation held meetings with high-ranking Iranian officials to discuss cooperation in the energy sector, including the implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed by Gazprom and NIOC in 2022.

-- Iran Atletes Claim Medals at Dubai 2023 GP
Iranian ’s shot put throwers have gained medals at the Fazza International Competition. At the shot put, Rashid Masjedi finished first at the event in the UAE.
The Iranian athlete registered a record of 6.97 in the competitions. Iran’s athlete has bagged a silver medal at the Fazza International Competition held in Dubai.
Hajar Safarzadeh ranked second at 400m in T12 class.
-- Center for Persian Language to Open in Oman
Iran plans to set up a center in Oman to teach Farsi to people interested in the Persian language and literature, according to Iranian Ambassador to Oman Ali Najafi. Najafi made the announcement while touring Iran’s stall at the 27th Muscat International Book Fair.
He said the language training center in Oman will respond to a growing interest in reading Farsi books in the Arab country. The 27th Muscat International Book Fair is being held in the Omani capital from February 22 to March 3 with the presence of 826 publishers from 32 countries.
-- Iran, Russia Ready to Create Joint Chamber of Commerce
The press service of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development has reported Russia and Iran are ready to create a joint chamber of commerce.
The Russian ministry’s report was published following the results of the fifth meeting of the Russian-Iranian working group on interregional cooperation.
“Representatives of both countries expressed their interest in increasing the pace of work on the formation of a regulatory framework for interregional cooperation, as well as in continuing the project to open trading houses of Iranian provinces in the Russian regions and Russian trading houses in Iran,” the ministry said.

-- Iran beat Uganda at 2023 Junior Kabaddi World Championship
Iran defeated Uganda 67-28 in the second edition of the Junior Kabaddi World Championships underway inertia, Iran on Wednesday. Iran, who had defeated Chinese Taipei 62-25 in their opening match, will play Bangladesh in Group A on Thursday.
The teams will play the group stage matches in a round Robin format. After that the top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarterfinals. The semifinals and final will be held on March 3 and 4.
-- Iranian Studies Center to unveil Persian paintings inspired by Nezami poetry
The Iranian Studies Center plans to unveil five Persian paintings produced based on stories from the works of Nezami Ganjavi, the greatest romantic epic poet in classical Persian literature.
The artworks have been created by Mehdi Farrokhi and will be introduced as part of the center’s program to celebrate Nezami Day, which falls on March 12 this year, the director of the center, Abdolmajid Sharifzadeh told the Persian service of IRNA on Wednesday.
-- Japanese ambassador visits tourist sites in Chabahar
Japanese Ambassador to Tehran Kazutoshi Aikawa on Tuesday visited some tourist attractions in the Chabahar region of the southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan province.
It is the Martian Mountains, Lipar Wetland, and numerous coastal capacities that make Chabahar one of the most popular tourist destinations in Iran, said the ambassador.
