Iran and China issued a joint statement at the end of three-day visit to Beijing by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in which the two countries voiced strong support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of one another, urging closer cooperation between the leaders of both countries to give a boost to mutual cooperation.
According to the joint statement of Iran and China, in the field of security and defense, both sides condemned all forms of terrorism and terrorist attacks against civilians. They expressed their opposition to the application of double standards in the fight against terrorism and linking terrorism to any particular religion and ethnic group.
Accordingly, the two sides, while considering the assistance and sacrifices of the two countries in the fight against terrorism, agreed to increase cooperation in the field of counter-terrorism to promote regional and international peace and security.
According to the joint statement of Iran and China, the two sides agreed to strengthen the strategic communication between the defense sectors and to follow the exchanges and cooperation of the military forces at all levels and in different areas and to expand the holding of joint military exercises, training and personnel training.
Regarding developmental and economic cooperation, the two sides agreed to accelerate the implementation of the comprehensive cooperation program and continue to increase cooperation in the fields of trade, agriculture, industry, renewable energy, infrastructure, etc.
Accordingly, the two sides agreed that the 18th meeting of the Iran-China Joint Trade and Economic Committee will be held in Tehran in 2023.
