Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian underlined here on Thursday that as long as negotiations to achieve tangible and practical goals are on the agenda, Iran will remain on the path of diplomacy, adding that Tehran does not accept "negotiations for the sake of negotiations".

Addressing a group of ambassadors and foreign representatives attending a ceremony on the eve of the 44th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the Iranian top diplomat mentioned that the Islamic Republic gives importance to diplomacy and negotiations and it has not distanced itself from negotiating table.

We announced to the White House that they should choose between official messages through diplomatic channels to reach the final step in reviving the 2015 nuclear deal and making paradoxical statements via media outlets, Amirabdollahian noted.

Following up double standards and hypocritical stances will not be effective, he said, adding that the great nation of Iran is well aware that if the other side is seeking to return to an agreement based on a real determination and realistic approach, the Islamic Republic of Iran would support diplomacy and negotiation in a respectful, powerful and sustainable form.
