Nouakchott, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug in a meeting in Nouakchott on Wednesday reviewed issues of bilateral importance.

The two foreign ministers discussed a wide range of issues, including, politics, culture, economy and trade.

The Iranian foreign minister voiced Tehran’s support for measures taken by Mauritania to establish peace in the African Sahara region.

The Mauritanian foreign minister, for his part, hailed bilateral relations between the two countries stressing the need for expansion of interactions.

The two sides also exchanged views on providing support for the Palestinian cause, expansion of cooperation among Islamic countries, and issues related to an upcoming OIC foreign ministerial meeting in Nouakchott.
